Amir has always had a fiery spirit and an overbearing confidence that he could conquer the world. As a child it got him into all manner of trouble with his parents and he dragged his twin brother Akeem along with him wherever he went and whatever he did. He has an incredibly close bond with his brother and though he's terrible at displaying it in the conventional way he and Akeem are much better at letting the other know they care with a punch to the face and a wrestling match in the mud. For the most part Amir is supportive and friendly with his brother and constantly teases him affectionately but under the right circumstances a fierce and powerful over-protectiveness of Akeem can be triggered and woe be to the poor fool that raises their hand against his brother on that day- he is not above killing in order to protect him.

His world was a small one growing up (despite all the rich parties his family frequently attended) that always seemed to just be him and Akeem and eventually that became all he ever really cared about. As far as he's concerned he only cares about Akeem, the rest of the people in the world hold no interest for him and no matter how well his parents drilled the good manners and fine upbringing into him he can't help but look disinterested in the company of others. As a result he's become rather snide and sarcastic towards strangers and even acquaintances.


History

Amir and his brother Akeem were born to a noble family in Reluir teetering on the brink of social collapse among their peers. Their parents were living a daily struggle to keep in good standing even as their finances plummeted daily and the arrival of their two very rambunctious twins did not help in the least bit. The first few years of their lives they were bearable enough but soon disolved into chaos as the brothers began fighting with their overbearing parents more and more. All hell broke loose when Akeem's forced arranged marriage took a turn for the worst one night, and that very night Amir took his brother and immediately fled their home together. They ran south to Iadlain at first but even that was still too close to Reluir and the fear of being found and dragged home still hunted them so they smuggled themselves onto the next airship bound for Tusa.

Upon reaching Tusa they eventually found work as mercenaries where they focused on perfecting their skills in magic and healing as they worked odd jobs here and there. As a young mage and eventually a sorcerer Amir had always been completely and utterly fascinated with the unique powers of the few sages he knew while growing up. Suddenly finding himself free of his parent's expectations for him to follow become a wizard he readily turned all of his attention and focus to learning the way of the sage. It was just his luck that he seemed to have a natural gift for it and while pouring over books on sages in the vast University's Library in Tusa for years he gradually mastered the art of the "anti magic".

Alongside his brother Akeem who had turned towards exorcism, the pair are a formidable duo as mercenaries and earn a fair share of spare coin wherever they're hired.


Additional info

- He doesn't use a staff but rather incorporates defensive hand-to-hand moves into his magic.
- He keeps a small knife in his boot on the off chance that he won't be able to defend himself with magic alone. If he moves fast enough when first attacked he knows how to quickly disarm an unfocused oponent, but he can be easily overwhelmed if faced with a heavily armed adversary.
- Due to his preference to work barehanded he's developed a bizarre dark pigmentation of his skin on his hands and arms, likely as a result of some lingering affects from the magic he frequently dispells and blocks. Apart from the change of skin color he's had no other problems with it so he shrugged it off long ago despite it's slow and steady progression further up his arms.
- He claims to be the older twin, despite being the smaller and more petite of the pair.
- He can play the reed flute moderately well.

Akeem Vaziri - Identical Twin Brother
      Amir and Akeem have been inseperable since birth and although they show their affection for one another with bruised lips and black eyes they will stand by each other no matter what comes thier way.

Fallan Bekci - Friend and colleague (of sorts)
      Amir and Akeem quite often pay Fallan visits at his library to discuss a mutual interest the brothers share with him.
