Personals

Occupation: Owner and sole employee of a newly founded Incense Shop on Amie Isle named Incensational. He both sells incense and offers small, quiet, comfortable meditation rooms to to relax in while burning incense. Hourly rental fees of the rooms are cheap and incense can either be purchased by the customer or also “rented” if they don’t wish to purchase anything to take home, but still want to experience the relaxing properties of the incense. 

Town of Residence: Amie Isle, in a small studio apartment built on the second story of his Incense Shop.

Personality: 

In his early years Ezra was a certified spoiled pest, brought up in a posh mansion living the pampered lifestyle of a pet he got everything he wanted, when he wanted it. When his life was flipped upside down however and he found himself living a simple rural life in Laverre, it was like he became an entirely new pokemon. His entitlement and selfishness eventually vanished entirely, and the petty, selfish habits he’s learned growing up were slowly eradicated one by one thanks to the kindness and friendship of his new owner. He learned how to better control his bratty outbursts, becoming calm and collected instead. He was taught the benefits of meditation to help keep the immense psychic power contained in his ears under control, but sometimes when pushed past the limits of his tolerance his old habits will kick in and he reacts with a nasty attitude and hostility.

After his second owner passed away he became reserved, and preferred to keep to himself instead of interacting with people. Working odd jobs around Kalos as a pokehuman helped him to open back up a little more, but he’s not as outwardly friendly anymore like he used to be when he lived in Laverre. 

History: 

Ezra was hatched to be a “designer” pokemon for a high class woman who wanted a male and female pair of meowstics to use in beauty competitions. Unfortunately, the perfect pair of espurr hatched for this purpose despised one another. He was named Ezra, and she Jezebel, and Jezebel quickly decided that she was the better of the two of them, which angered Ezra. Their trainer wasn’t even the woman who owned them, but rather a young man she’d hired to train them up until they evolved into meowstics.

His job was tedious, keeping the spiteful pair of espurrs from turning on one another during their training but eventually his efforts paid off. Ezra was the first to evolve, which he would smugly rub in Jezebel’s face. Once she finally evolved the man who trained and raised them was promptly dismissed and the beauty contests began in earnest. Jezebel adored the attention but Ezra not so much. He was quickly disinterested and even uncomfortable with performing, lagging behind while Jezebel soared and won contest after contest, becoming insufferably snide about it every time. Ezra’s salvation from this life came at the hands of s couple team flare grunts who crashed a beauty contest he was entered in, and he was snatched. In the chaos, however, his pokeball was dropped, and picked up mistakenly by someone else who was fleeing the scene.

The mistake wasn’t realized until later that evening when Ezra was released from his pokeball and he immediately fled in confusion and fear before the person could stop him. He was lost within minutes, no longer in the sprawling big city of Lumiose, but instead in the rural Laverre. He wandered, lost and afraid for nearly two days until an elderly woman quite literally picked him up off the street and took him in.

He was wary at first, but quickly reverted to the spoiled behavior he’d grown up with, and the old woman would have none of it. In the ten years that he lived with her, he was thoroughly reformed, and he butted heads with her for the first three years as he unlearned everything he had previously been raised to know. It was strange, for him, going from a pampered, spoiled show pet to a quiet and easygoing companion. The old woman asked for nothing but his friendship so long as he lived with her, and he found himself more than happy to give it. The quiet life suited him, and even when by chance he encountered a dittech distributor, he turned down the offer of one, preferring to continue living quietly with the old woman.

When she passed away barely a year later he was distraught, and even though some of the people in Laverre who had know both the woman and Ezra for years offered to take him in, he turned them down and set off to find that dittech distributor again. As much as he had loved his life in Laverre, he no longer wanted to leave his fate in the hands of trainers. He had no experience surviving as a wild pokemon though, so living as a human sounded like a good alternative. 

When he finally got himself a dittech he wandered here and there working odd jobs that suited his fancy. Eventually he saved up enough money he decided he wanted to open his own shop, moving to Amie Isle and starting Incensational.

Relationships: 

Jezebel - His relationship with Jezebel was strained and filled with a lot of malice. She would pick on him and find ways to make herself look superior for their owner which frustrated Ezra to no end. He hasn’t seen her since he was snatched away by the team flare grunts, and personally has no desire to ever see her again.

Old Woman (deceased) - The kindly old soul who took Ezra in when he was lost and alone in Laverre. She cared for him and helped him to reform his life and he was incredibly fond of her and the simple life he was able to live with her. When she died of old age he was devastated and heartbroken at losing a dear friend. He has a small memorial picture of her in his apartment room on a shelf.

Brooklyn: Ezra surprised himself by befriending the zangoose, considering Brook's wildly outgoing personality, but despite their differences Ezra would readily call him a friend if ever asked.
